Jillian Peters, MS, OTR/L

““The water feeds our sensory system and allows us to move so freely. It’s fun to see others have this same enjoyment.”

Background

Jillian attended Boston University earning both her undergraduate and MS in Occupational Therapy. She worked as an advanced clinician at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, where she received specialized training in aquatic therapy, led community- based aquatic classes, and provided 1:1 aquatic therapy for individuals of all ages. In
addition to her aquatic work, she provided inpatient care for both adults and pediatric patients. Jillian also worked as an occupational therapist at Prospect Hill Academy Charter School (K-12) and Extra Steps Pediatric Therapies – Minuteman Arc. She brings extensive experience working with both adults and children but, most notably, a deep passion for aquatics.

Before becoming an occupational therapist, Jillian was a lifeguard, swimming instructor, competitive swimmer, coach, and aqua aerobics instructor.

Since joining Diamond Physical Therapy Associates, Jillian has embraced the unique benefits of aquatic therapy, helping clients manage injuries, chronic pain, and mobility challenges while improving confidence and daily function. She finds great joy in the energy, playfulness, and curiosity that pediatric clients bring to the pool and thrives on adapting therapy to fit the unique needs, motivations, and interests of each individual.

In her free time, Jillian enjoys spending time with her family, including her two young boys, hiking with her dogs, skiing, cooking, and volunteering in her Acton community.

“We are always looking for therapists who have a lifelong passion for aquatics. Jill has been a welcome addition to our team. Her training as an OT adds a new dimension to our practice. It’s
a gift to be able to share our knowledge across disciplines.”

– Laura Diamond, PT, MS

“As the parent of a young child with multiple special needs, including a developmental coordination disorder, we have always struggled with finding therapies for him that that he not only needs, but that he also enjoys. Jillian is a therapist that helps make this combination possible! Declan looks forward to “swimming” every week with “Ms Jill.” We are so grateful for her experience and calming presence that can keep Declan engaged and smiling, even when doing hard things.”

– Mom, Meredith

“Jill has been such an incredible addition to our team! Her wealth of experience and wisdom in the world of Aquatics makes her an exceptional therapist to carry out our mission – providing the best Aquatic Therapy services in the greater Boston area. Her diverse background working with both kids and adults in the water, as well as her training as an occupational therapist, broadens our perspective and scope of care as a team. She is a compassionate, caring, and dynamic therapist who values a holistic approach to everyone she works with. Her clients love her, and we are so lucky to have her on our team!”

– Megan Cohen

“We cannot thank Jillian enough for the incredible progress our son has made with her help. When he first started, he was anxious around water, afraid of getting splashed, and wouldn’t even put his head underwater. Now, when his sisters splash him in the pool, instead of getting upset and getting out of the water, he splashes them back and chases after them. Thanks to Jillian’s patience, expertise, and encouragement, he has gained so much confidence in the water.”
